Swinging Sticks is the kind of object your attention can’t ignore. Two aluminum arms, balanced just right, tracing slow arcs through the air as if they’ve forgotten gravity’s rules. Once set in motion, they can continue their silent dance for months on end. It’s easy to see why it’s found its way onto the desks of tastemakers (even Pepper Potts noticed). Hypnotic without being distracting, precise yet poetic, Swinging Sticks is tension and calm endlessly unfolding. | Art of Play

Three different ways we like to turn the lights on — all a little unexpected. Lito looks like a book until you open it and the room glows. Pages become light, folding flat into a desk lamp or opening fully to hang in the air. Heng Balance switches on with a quiet moment of connection — two wooden spheres meet, magnets click, light appears. Simple, calm, oddly satisfying. Sunday Challenge: Count the triangles. Answer to last week’s Sunday Challenge: Take any 8 cards and put them into one pile. Put the remaining 18 cards into a second pile. Now flip every card in the smaller pile over. That’s it. Why it works: If the original spread had 8 face-down cards total, then the pile of 8 cards contains some number of face-down cards — say X. That means the other pile has 8 − X face-down cards. When you flip all 8 cards in the first pile, those k face-down cards become fac

Sunday Challenge: A game of shades. Which suit is the darkest of them all? Drop your guesses below. ♠️♥️♣️♦️ Answer to last week’s Sunday Challenge; A standard playing card is about .01 inches thick, so a card folded twelve times will be over three feet thick. Since the thickness of the packet doubles every time you fold it, if you were somehow able to fold the card twenty-one times, it would be taller than the Empire State Building! | Art of Play

Back in stock — and just as delightfully bizarre as ever. ✨ Cabinetarium is what happens when a deck of cards wanders through a surrealist daydream and comes back a little changed. Illustrated by the brilliant Armando Veve, each card is its own tiny world — filled with curious creatures, impossible objects, and exquisite detail that rewards every glance. It’s equal parts art, illusion, and imagination, ready for play or display in your own cabinet of curiosity. | Art of Play

Mount Fuji in your hands. The mountain often keeps itself hidden in real life and only to be seen about 70-80 days a year. So while clear views of the mountain are rare, this petite pop-up book offers a lasting one, unfolding into a full circular panorama—clouds curling, the sun glowing, cranes settling softly along the slopes. Created by architect Yusuke Oono, it’s a quiet moment of craftsmanship you can return to whenever. | Art of Play
